Miss Panama beauty queen : Miss Panama Isamar Herrera went viral when she thought she had reached the finals of Miss Grand International and walked on stage before the host could correct her. She handled the mistake well, later speaking about the experience with humor and calm. A viral moment captured everyone’s attention at the 2025 Miss Grand International pageant in Bangkok on Saturday when Miss Panama, Isamar Herrera, mistakenly thought she had reached the finals.
During the finalists’ announcement, host Matthew Dean called out Miss Paraguay, Cecilia Romero. However, Herrera misheard the signal and, amid enthusiastic cheers, ran forward to join the other contestants. She clapped, posed, and completed her walk while the crowd fell almost silent.
Dean quickly interrupted, “Uh, sorry. I announced Miss Grand Paraguay. This hall is very noisy, full of fans from all over the world.” Herrera then went back to her original spot, giving Romero her rightful place among the finalists.
Ten more names were announced to complete the shortlist of 22 contestants, but Herrera’s name was not among them. The finalists included representatives from Belgium, the United States, Thailand, the United Kingdom, Spain, Tanzania, Japan, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico.
Later, speaking about the incident, Herrera told the press, “These things happen. It was a mistake, and this is a competition. You have to know how to lose and recognize the victories of others.” She later jokingly shared the moment on Instagram, along with a laughing emoji and the text: “The fact that you’re handling things better than before is already a huge step forward. Give yourself credit. Life is about evolution, not perfection.”
Miss Philippines Emma Tiglao was crowned Miss Grand International 2025, while Thailand’s Sarunrat Puagpipat and Spain’s Aitana Jimenez were the first and second runners-up, respectively.
